OpenCart and WordPress info

OpenCart is a standalone shopping cart system that is most suitable for a small business web shop. While OpenCart releases security patches occasionally, it does not provide regular updates. Instead, a new version of OpenCart is released periodically. When we create any new web shop, we always use the most current versions of OpenCart and PHP, which will usually suffice for a few years. It will however eventually become necessary to rebuild the web shop on a newer version in order to bring the site up-to-date with all the latest features and functionality.
As WordPress continues to evolve along with the latest trends and technology, it offers your web shop the scope for further development should your requirements change in the future. WordPress provides regular updates which help to keep your web shop up-to-date with the latest PHP version, security patches, and other features and functionality. The performance and speed of your web shop also benefit from the regular updates too. Very rarely, an update may cause a site to break, however, it is usually possible to resolve the issue quite quickly. Overall, WordPress offers a highly reliable platform, which makes it a popular choice for any website.

What isn’t included?

Domain Name

As you will be the owner of your new custom web shop, we firmly believe that you should have full control of your own Domain Name without the need to involve a third party and to pay extra costs. We therefore DO NOT provide a Domain Name with any of our packages.

You can purchase a Domain Name at low cost from the following Registrars – namecheap.com | uk2.net | crazydomains.co.uk

When you have registered a Domain Name, you will need to change the NameServers from your Domain Registrar’s control panel to the DNS settings that we will provide you with. If you need help to change the settings, we will be happy to assist you.

Images

You must provide all images for the design of your website. If you do not have your own images, you can easily find both FREE or paid-for stock photography websites through Google search engine. Whether the images you source are FREE or paid-for, you just need to ensure that your intended use of each individual image complies with the license and copyright conditions.

Website Creation FAQ’s

Email Correspondence Only

We devote all of our working time to the creation and management of our website projects and services. Because this leaves us with little time to take phone calls, ALL correspondence is by EMAIL only.

We find that many of our Clients find it easier to communicate their website design preferences and requirements by Email. It also enables us to get our work done without interruption throughout the day.

Website Project Acceptance

Once you have requested a custom Brochure Website or Web Shop package, we will let you know within 48 hours if your project has been accepted. You will normally be offered a start date within 2-8 weeks from the time that you have requested the package. We will only decline your project, if we are unable to offer you a start date within the next 8 weeks.

Prior to the start date, you must send all of your content, such as images and text to us as soon as possible. If we have not received your content by the start date, your project will be rescheduled to commence at a later date.

Website Creation

Of course, we would like to say just a few days, however, realistically, the time it takes will truly will depend on the earliest start date that we can offer you and the size of your new website.

As soon as we accept your project, you will be given a scheduled start date. The date you are given will take into account the number of other website projects that we have scheduled ahead of yours, and the size and type of your new website. All projects are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

Once we start your project, our aim is to have your new website live on the web within 7 – 35 days.

FREE Technical Support

Technical support is provided FREE for the life of your website when hosted on our server. You can request technical support at any time by submitting a support ticket through our Client Portal.

We will respond to any support request within our business hours of 10am – 7pm (GMT) and will endeavour to resolve any technical issue as quickly as possible.

Technical support is available for any server issues and system glitches that may rarely be encountered.

File Back-Up

Website files are backed up every week as a precautionary measure in the event of system failure or other uncontrollable forces that result in loss of website data. Please see our Terms of Service for more information.
